Rung Royal

The Court Piece app, the way your family plays it · See the game →

Rung Royal is a free Court Piece card game for Android and iPhone, made by VybePlay. Court Piece is the four-player, two-partnership trick-taking game played across North India and Pakistan under many names — Rang, Rung, Hokm, Coat Piece, Kot Pees — and Rung Royal plays every house rule you have argued about: Single Sir, Double Sir, Hidden Rung, Be-Ranga, and Mendikot.

Why "Rung Royal"?

Rung (रंग) is the trump suit — the colour that outranks every other card once it is called. Calling the rung is the moment the hand turns, and it is the word every table shouts. Royal is the deck: the court cards are painted as a Mughal-era family, kings and queens in real textiles, on a richly illustrated deck made for this app. Rung Royal, then, is "the trump, painted royal". If you were looking for Rang Royal, Rung Royale or Royal Rung — same game, this is the one by VybePlay.

What is in the app

• Against your family — nine characters who play differently (the aggressive Chachu, the patient Dadi, the gambler Mamu…), and who talk: they greet you by name, tease each other across the table, and remember last night's kot. Without internet they play three free rounds a day, and any time with Remove Ads.
• Online at a private table — host a room, share a code on WhatsApp, empty seats fill with bots. Hold to talk.
• Every variant — Single Sir, Double Sir, Hidden Rung (hidden trump; some say Hidden Sir) and Be-Ranga (no trump), with points or courts scoring; and Mendikot, where the tens decide, always to five points.
• Eight languages — Hinglish, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Gujarati, Bengali and Marathi, including the cast's banter.
• Free, no gambling — no coins, no chips, no wagering. Optional purchases remove ads.
